Our Services

Here at Merchant City Cameras we offer a wide variety of services including our own inhouse repair specialist for film camera equipment. Simply bring your equipment into the store and we'll let you know if a repair is possible and give you a free estimate before any work is carried out. Unfortunatly we cannot carry out camcorder or digital camera repairs.

 

We have recently introduced digital SLR sensor cleaning, this is invaluable if you have dust or marks on your sensor both of which can waste even the most professional of photographs. Just bring your DSLR into the store with a fully charged battery and we will clean the sensor for you, as this service takes approximately an hour we ask that you contact us beforehand to make an appointment.

In Store Product Availability / Part Exchange

Our website is updated daily and we endevour to keep all stock up to date but due to very high turnover this is not always possible, to avoid disapointment you can reserve any item from the website. Items reserved in this manner will be held for you in store for 2 working days. If circumstances prevent you collecting within this timeframe then please contact the shop and we will be happy to discuss your needs.

Yes, we still offer part exchange but we really need to see it so bring it in and we'll see what we can do.

Used Equipment

We currently have one of the largest used equipment sections in Scotland and we aim to describe the equipment as accurately and honestly as we can. If, however you have any doubts please feel free to contact us and we will happily describe the equipment in more detail to you.

All of the equipment is graded as follows:

As New As it say's, just like new
Very Good Some signs of loving and careful use (Some minor dings etc. but fully functional)
Good Wearing it's battle scars with pride (More severe cosmetic damage but still OK functionally)
As Seen What you see is what you get (Barring our three month guarantee as detailed below of course)

Every item is checked before dispatch (with the exception of light tightness testing) and comes with a 3 month warranty but we suggest that you operationally test all equipment upon receipt as Merchant City Cameras will accept no responsibility for any loss of moneys or earnings due to faulty equipment. If, of course you do find that after checking your purchase, you find fault then please do not hesitate to contact us.

 

Classic Cameras

We have a big range of classic cameras from box to folding and lots more in between. Our classic range vary in condition, and are price accordingly, some cameras have simply seized due to many years of not being used. This can sometimes be fixed by some simple maintenance, firing the shutter on a regular basis on different settings usually does it. Most of our classics cameras are sold for nostalgic or decorative purposes, many because you cannot get the film for the cameras anymore. We check all classics before we list them as much as we can and if we find any fault we tell you in the description. Unfortunately we do not guarantee full working order on our classic cameras.

We offer full guarantee on all products sold:

New Equipment                        12 months manufacturers warranty

Refurbished Equipment            6 month manufacturers warranty 

Used Equipment                       6 months warranty (3 months on items under £50 or flash guns)

If you find any fault with the equipment please get in touch and we will help in anyway we can.

Delivery

We aim to deliver all parcels within 7 days depending on the postage service you chose please refer to delivery information page for more details.

Refunds and exchanges

If your product is found to be faulty we will give a full money back gaurantee. If it is damaged in transit you need to take it up with the delivery provider, we do obtain proof of postage for all parcels sent, if you chose either Royail Mail special delivery or courier service you will be provided with a tracking number. If your parcel goes missing or arrives damaged please let us know and we will assist you in anyway we can. We do not offer refunds if you simply change your mind, but in certain circumstances we will offer a credit note or exchange to the same value, if the item is returned in original condition.

Errors and Omissions

We make every effort to ensure that the information on our site is accurate and up to date. We will promptly correct any errors brought to our attention. If you find an error please let us know via our Contact Us section. We can accept no responsibility for information or opinions from third-parties, contained within this site, or for the content of links from this site. Product photographs are for illustration only, products may differ from those shown. If in doubt please contact us either by email or telephone. Specifications and product descriptions are for guidance only and cannot be guaranteed accurate. Errors and Omissions excepted. We reserve the right to withdraw any item from sale, at any point prior to dispatch, for whatever reason.
